Who We Are
"We create sustainable ecosystems for the land, people, and wildlife of Zambia"
From Inspiration to Impact:
The Story of
Dazzle Africa
Dazzle Africa was launched in 2011 after six women journeyed to Zambia to witness wild elephants travel through the lobby of the famous Mfuwe Lodge to find their favorite ripened mangoes. On the return flight from Johannesburg to New York, ideas swirled and all of the women decided they could do something to give back to the place that brought them so much joy in such a short period of time. Soon after their return back to the United States, partnerships were created with local organizations in conservation, education and community development to help protect this precious area of the world.
The following year, 2012, marked the official beginning of Dazzle Africa. We hosted our first safari, welcoming 15 enthusiastic safari guests, including several guests that have traveled back to Zambia multiple times since. All six co-founders are still involved today and continue to help Dazzle better meet the needs of the people and wildlife of Zambia.
Since that first year, we’ve continued to grow our partnerships, building strong relationships that help us to support critical projects in the Luangwa Valley. With our partners, we’ve provided water for 28,000 residents, sponsored 41 students to pursue education, and invested over 2.4 million dollars in local conservation and community initiatives. We take a trust-based approach to philanthropy, collaborating with local organizations and allowing them to steer decisions and strategy. And our impact continues to grow each year!
Our safari program is part of our unique approach, providing trips of a lifetime while connecting generous supporters with opportunities to support an incredible community and ecosystem. So far, more than 400 travelers have visited the Mfuwe area with Dazzle Africa.
